Well because clean lineart always managed to escape me in digital, I naturally developed my own kinda lineless style (although this might not be what you meant when you talk about linelessness?).
If you’re going for a realistic style, don’t feel like you have to stop relying on lines altogether. With my work I always start with a line sketch (sometimes suuuper messy, but still), and then paint over it. Kiwi Byrd is a good example of a semi-realistic lineless style. They start with a sketch, and the tone and shade is what makes it look realistic.
